Ultimate Soft & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

If you love soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies with a slightly crispy edge, this recipe is for you! With the perfect balance of butter, brown sugar, and chocolate, these cookies will melt in your mouth. Let’s dive in!

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups (310g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 2: Combine and Fold in Chocolate Chips

  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  2. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.

Step 3: Chill the Dough

  1. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 24 hours for a richer flavor).

Step 4: Bake the Cookies

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown while the center remains soft.

Step 5: Cool and Enjoy

  1. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  2. Enjoy warm with a glass of milk or store them in an airtight container for up to a week.

Tips for the Best Cookies:

  • Chilling the dough enhances the flavor and texture, making the cookies chewier.
  • Use room temperature eggs to ensure even mixing.
  • Experiment with different chocolates, like dark, milk, or even white chocolate chips for variety.
