Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups (310g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Step 2: Combine and Fold in Chocolate Chips
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
Step 3: Chill the Dough
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 24 hours for a richer flavor).
Step 4: Bake the Cookies
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown while the center remains soft.
Step 5: Cool and Enjoy
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- Enjoy warm with a glass of milk or store them in an airtight container for up to a week.
Tips for the Best Cookies:
- Chilling the dough enhances the flavor and texture, making the cookies chewier.
- Use room temperature eggs to ensure even mixing.
- Experiment with different chocolates, like dark, milk, or even white chocolate chips for variety.
